In 2008, following the launch of the digital edition - an exact replica of the hard-copy edition, The Trumpet expanded its scope to truly cover Africans in the Diaspora and Africans on the continent. Designed for Africans of all sexes, age groups, income levels, and educational backgrounds at home and abroad, the newspaper is packaged taking into consideration the major market segments within the community.

Following trends in the Industry, Trumpet Newspapers re-branded to Trumpet Media Group to enable a multi-product platform taking advantage of the convergence of Print, Electronic, Online and Social media.
