British Prime Minister says UK must help Nigeria defeat Insurgency

David Cameron has warned the UK that he crisis in Nigeria, Iraq and Somalia must not be dismissed as "nothing to do with us" as the same Islamic jihadists are also planning to attack the UK.

The prime minister said the terrorist insurgence in Iraq, as well as related problems in Somalia, Nigeria and Mali, would "come back and hit Britain at home" if they did not help stabilise these regimes.

British Prime Minister, David Cameron, has clearly pointed that Islamic extremism, like fascism, will not be tolerated in the United Kingdom - as he did stress that defeating Islamic extremism in Britain is as vital as dealing with the economy.

The Prime Minister strongly backed the views of Michael Gove, the education secretary, who said that the  Government must win the argument with those who want tolerate all but the most violent extremists.

 

Mr Gove has criticised the Home Office for failing to do enough to deal with the roots of extremism. Mr Gove said the Government should "drain the swamp" of extremism instead of "beating back the crocodiles" of terror down the line. 

Chibok Abduction Will Wipe Away Terrorism In Nigeria - GEJ

 

President Goodluck Jonathan, on Thursday, expressed optimism that the abduction of over 200 school girls in Chibok, Borno, would be the end to terror in the country.

Jonathan thanked China, the U.S., United Kingdom and France who volunteered to assist Nigeria in the rescue efforts of the girls and in fighting the terrorists.

“In fact by your presence here in Nigeria at this time, you have already supported us to win the war. If you
have refused to come because of fear, the terrorists would have jubilated and even have committed more havoc.

UK, Canada Support Kenya In Fight Against Terrorism

 

The international community has expressed its support for Kenya in fighting terror threats, following attacks over the weekend in Mombasa and Nairobi.

The UK government says it has not, and is not ready to issue any travel advisory but will instead focus on working with the Kenyan government in fighting the vice.

Condemning the weekend attacks, the British High Commissioner to Kenya Christian Turner said terrorism was a global problem which should be addressed in collaborative effort. Continue...
