The Believer's Standing and His State

Before delving to the core of this message, I must stress the need to raise your mindset to think like Him (1 Peter 4:1-2). I should also point that the standing and the state of a Christian are two different facets of his life.

As Christians, our standing can determine our state but our state cannot determine our standing. Our standing is permanent and unchangeable, while our state is temporal and changeable. Many times, people judge us according to our state... and not by our standing.

Our standing connotes divinity as it is what Jesus has done for us, while our state requires humanity as it is what we do for ourselves.
"We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory; this is from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Cor 3:18 (HCSB)

Who do you see in the mirror when you look? That same person is the glory of the Lord.That is your standing.

Don't measure your life by your state but measure your life by your standing in Christ. For instance; "...the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 - is your standing in Christ. But what if you are diagnosed of Arthritis or even cancer? Don't worry, calm down, for it will come to pass.

Let your standing determine your faith, don't allow your state determine what you believe in. Your standing must change your state because the Precious Holy Spirit is our agent of change.

Your standing says: "you are the head and not the tail". But you've just been fired from work... You are broke at the moment... You can't even feed... Just don't worry, believe in your standing and allow it to rule your faith.

You have a standing that will change your state. HIV/AIDS, Ebola, Migraines or any manner of sickness isn't your standing, but your state - which is temporal and highly changeable. You must believe in your standing and daily give thanks to God for your standing in Him.

God wants us to "fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." (2 Cor 4:18)

Accordingly, we must not look at the things which are seen - that is, our state - but at the things which are not seen, which is our standing in Christ Jesus.

Your standing is permanent and unchangeable. No man can change it. So, you must believe, think, and act in accordance to your standing in Christ Jesus; and not by what you see.


Remember, by your standing, you are the glory of God.

Prayer: 
Lord, thank you for my standing in Christ Jesus. (Amen)

Virtue: The Spirit of Servanthood

 

The term 'servant' has been degraded as everyone wants to be in charge - whether experienced or not. Apart from exceptional cases when God wants to raise a rare gem, it is highly necessary for everyone to undergo the process of service - if they must lead.

The spirit of servant-hood is the essential attitude necessary for all leaders. It is the loyal feeling of being a servant and the pleasure one derives on remembering the fact that he or she is a servant. In the words of
Bishop David Abioye, "the spirit of servanthood is a platform of empowerment and enthronement. This spirit takes one into the realm of exhortations, it cares less about position and it is the gateway to leadership.

Your God Given Pregnancy

Yeah! The term 'pregnancy' is  basically a feminine gender thing, as we all believe... But that's not true!

Pregnancy, in the real sense of the word, can also relate to men and the young. In this aspect, it is explained as the state of being rich in significance, with greater possibilities of development.

Spiritually speaking, being pregnant means being rich in significance and purpose; being endowed with potentials that are not yet actualized and possessing the possibility of birthing greatness. Here, pregnancy applies to everyone - whether old or young, male or female.

Just like a woman heavy with the physical foetus, one having potentials is also pregnant - as he is carrying greatness which is yet unborn.

You might wonder: What is the purpose of this post?

Life may not look rosy now, it may not be your dream and it may be really frustrating. Trust me, I have seen and heard so many sad stories. But as one pregnant, you must maintain a right state of mind in order to avoid miscarriage. You musn't treat yourself so badly nor engage in riotious acts because they will lead to miscarriage. A truism is that pregnancy stage is normally strenous and challenging, but after birth, there is usually joy and fulfilment. This is also applicable to the trying stages of potential greatness.

Understand you bear something great inside of you and lead life as though you are physically pregnancy. Walk like one who is pregnant, don't run carelessly; go for the bus with care, don't rush or fight for turn - a pregnant woman won't do that; talk  less; behave quietly; make friends with those who are also pregnant and be hopeful of giving birth safely.

It really doesn't matter how long it takes or how pathetic your story is. On the platform of faith and patience, you will surely deliver that long conceived greatness - and all men would see to rejoice with you. Of course, the striking addage follows: "the rejected stone will be the head corner."

When a woman delivers safely, people usually have no choice than to congratulate her. This will also be the matter when you have given those inherent ideas, dreams and greatness flesh and men see them live.

Be assured that God, Who made you pregnant, has better plans for you and He is never late.

How Much Do You Trust Him?

A man just got married and was returning home with his wife. They were crossing a lake in a boat, when
suddenly a great storm arose. The man was a warrior, but the woman became very much afraid because it seemed almost hopeless; the boat was small and the storm was really huge, and any moment they were going to be drowned.

However, the man sat silently, calm and quiet, as if nothing was happening. The woman was trembling and
she said: “Are you not afraid ? This may be our last moment of life! It doesn’t seem that we will be able to reach the other shore.

Surprisingly today, many people want to become leaders but none wants to be a servant. We tend forget the fact that the greatest leaders and people in history were once servants. For instance, Joshua the son of Nun, who destroyed Jericho, was a dedicated servant/ follower of Moses. Elisha was Elijah's loyal servant and he got the double portion of Elijah's grace. We can all bear witness of Pastor Adeboye of RCCG who was a humble servant to late Pa. Josiah. These people served selflessly, dedicatively and with pleasure. Today, we can all talk about their accomplishments.

Don't let them pull you down, believe in yourself!

"There are some people who put you down in life, mock your dreams, and challenge your character; they look like winners. But in actual fact, they are only voicing out of their insecurities and jealousy. Do not let them pull you down. Believe and accept yourself and hold onto what you believe in."  — Unknown

Always believe in yourself and in what you carry. You are uncommon - and uncommon men are mystics; they are not easily comprehended by humans. Hence, don't feel bad when people think awkward of you, its only because you do not belong to their kind of class. You are in a class of your own... You are uncommon!

A Divine Sentence: The Words of a King

Jesus wants us to move those mountains.

I have had to write several articles under the compulsive leadership of the Precious Holy Spirit via the ministrations of God's elated servants; articles meant for a chosen few. Here again, is the good-news of salvation.

A divine sentence differs from a physical one and it is much more effective than a prayer.

It is a divine decree, divine judgement pronounced on life issues and questions. It is the Rhema of God oozing out from one's lips. This is more than an ordinary sentence... It is a supernatural decree characterised be temerity.
DEFINING OUR PERSONALITY...

Turning through to the book of Revelation 1 vs 5 - 6, the Word of God ordained us kings and priests - this position we fully assume when we accept Christ as our Lord and fully believe in Him.

In essence, every believer is a king and a priest - this applies to both men and women as there is no gender segregation in God.

Accordingly, the book of Proverbs 16 vs 10 reads:

"A divine sentence is in the lips of a king: his mouth trangresseth not in judgement." KJV

This biblical sentence opens our eyes to the fact that while releasing divine sentences, one is never careful.

THE MISSING LINK

We have missed the link all this while. Thus, we begged for what was rightfully ours.

However, the good-news is, we are free to assume our kingship position. Words are the only things that have the ability of going into the future before us. Hence, we ought to use them aright.

The Spirit of the Lord urges us to exercise our earthly - unlimited powers since there is power where the word of a king is.

An outright example of a divine sentence is seen in Mark 11 vs 12 - 14, where Jesus pronounced judgement on the unproductive fig tree. Then in verses 20 - 22, we learnt that the fig tree dried up as commanded by Christ.

Now, if we say we cannot do what Christ did, what then is our hope of glory?

Your Marital Destination

Your marital destination is the great plan of God for your marriage life. Your marital destiny is highly important because you cannot fulfill your destiny in life if you have not fulfilled your marital destiny. God hates divorce & as such, divorce is not in God's plan for us.

WISDOM is a major requirement for marital bliss and without wisdom, you cannot locate your marital destiny. By Wisdom, I mean locating God's way of doing things. Destiny becomes stagnant when wisdom is not put into action. Pleasing God...

Pleasing God is quite different from pleasing men. There are two things you can do in order to please God and to cause Him to release His blessings in abundance upon you. These two principles are simple and easy to operate:

1. Work by faith: You have to always believe in the things that are unusual. Things that people tag impossible. Believe that with God, no impossibility. Thus, faith is walking in the realm of possibility.
