Mourinho Wants Torres At Chelsea

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has claimed he would like to see striker Fernando Torres remain at Stamford Bridge this season.

The 30-year-old Spaniard was left out of the Blues' two Premier League matches - as Mourinho prefers returning legend Drogba, 36, to the former Liverpool man.

Torres is currently sought for by top Serie A clubs - AC Milan, AS Roma and Inter Milan - but the self acclaimed 'Happy One' wants to retain the services of his unsettled striker.
"I want three strikers in the team. I cannot do a season without three strikers. I want him (to stay)," Mourinho told the Press.

"He will play and score goals, to be very useful for us, he is a fantastic guy, a fantastic professional, so there is no problem."

The 51-year-old Portuguese manager also looked to defend his decision of not featuring Torres so far in this season.

According to him, Torres will get enough playing time when the season begins in full - with all competitions in line.

"At this moment we are playing one match a week but that’s over next week, then we
have Capital One Cup, Champions League and Premier League matches all together.

“We will have three matches every week in September, October, November and December so it will be easier for all of them because they will all be playing."

Chelsea have won both of their Premier League matches this season, with newly signed Diego Costa totally impressive.
