Chelsea Manager Blasts Striker

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho lamented over his side's defensive errors and blasted Fernando Torres' performance in the Champions League 3-1 defeat to Paris Saint Germain on Wednesday.

Torres, who has scored just three times in the Champions League this seaason, was axed out in the first half of the great game.

And when called upon in the second half, the Spaniard struggled to touch the ball - lest to say creating an impact with it;hence, the 51-year-old Portuguese manager bitterly reacted.

"I'm not happy with my strikers’ performances so I had to try things," Mourinho said after the match.

"And with Andre at least I know we have one more player to have associate with the other players, even though he’s not a striker.

"But football is not just about that. It’s also about scoring goals, getting behind, and that is for strikers. Real strikers. And I had to try.

"It’s difficult for us to score goals, especially when the games are tight. It’s difficult for us to transform the half-chances into chances.

"And when you make a defensive mistake, you are in trouble."

The Blues must win PSG by 2-0 or 4-1 in the second leg next Tuesday - in order to qualify for the semi finals.
