Mourinho Fined For Aston Villa Misconduct

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been fined £8,000 and warned about his future conduct after being sent off at Aston Villa last month, the Football Association announced on Thursday.

The Portuguese manager was sent off by referee Chris Foy for walking into the pitch during the match; following a touchline struggle sparked by an ugly foul on Karim El Ahmadi by Ramires that earned the Chelsea midfielder a red card - but the self acclaimed 'special one' claimed that he had only gone onto the pitch to act as a peacemaker.

After he was charged, the 51-year-old manager requested a personal hearing before the FA - which was needless; and he has been very critical of Foy since the game.

Following proper investigations and considerations, the FA reached an agreement to punish the Blues' boss for his misconduct.

A statement on the FA website said: "Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been fined £8 000 and warned as to his future conduct following an independent regulatory commission hearing."

"Mourinho denied a breach of FA rule E3 in that his behaviour in re-entering the field of play and approaching the match referee in an attempt to speak to him ... amounted to improper conduct.

"However, the charge was found proven at a personal hearing on Wednesday, 9 April."

Chelsea will visit Swansea for their 34th Premier League clash this Sunday.
