El-Classico: Facts and Stats

As Real Madrid FC host Spanish Champions Barcelona in a clash which is globally referred to as El-Classico, Visuals! Blog has deemed it necessary to hint on the stats - ahead of the battle scheduled to hold on Sunday, March 23.

The prestigious El-Classico, which is regarded as the biggest rivalry in the football world, actually started on May 13, 1902; and the total number of 726 goals have been shared amongst these two great Spanish teams since inception.

The Los Blancos seem to have the largest part of the victory since the contest began, as they have won 90 of the clashes - with Barcelona winning 87.  Madrid's greatest Classico win was on June 13, 1943 - when they demolished the Blaugrana by 11-1. Meanwhile, Barca  have had a good number of 5-0 wins over the Galaticos, but the latest was the one we recently witnessed on November 29, 2010.
However, our concern with the El-Classico does not lie in history but in the present time - when the two greatest footballers in recent age, have made it soundly interesting.

...We talk of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Now taking the stats:

-RONALDO
He is a two-time Ballon d'Or winner, quick paced and a terrific dribbler.  Madrid's majestic commander, CR7 was endowed with power on his both feet, as the direction of his shot is hardly understood or withstood by goalkeepers. Report says he is the first player to score in six consecutive El-Classicos.

-MESSI
Indeed, natural born! The four-time Ballon d'Or winner is a swift dribbler and also quick paced. A dominant left footer who prefers to curl the ball than hit hard. Messi is Barca's 'god of soccer'. He is one of the top scorers in Classico matches with 18 goals - along with Madrid legend Alfredo di-Stefano.

Judging them with current forms,  Ronaldo is unbiasly predicted to be the 'game decider', as the Portuguese captain is 150% fit - working alone and netting unbelievable goals. Nonetheless, Messi is not the kind who hides in decisive  matches. The natural born footballer will definitely indicate his prolific presence on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the game isn't about the Portuguese and Argentine alone, there are other creative talents like Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, Angel Di-Maria, Dos Santos Neymar and Gareth Bale. Let's consider the last two.

-NEYMAR
The young Brazilian proved a point in the first Classico game of the season, when he netted a goal in Barcelona's victory. However, he has struggled with form since returning from injury.

-BALE
The world most expensive player will undoubtedly leave a landmark in Classico history on Sunday, as he is right on the heat. And following the fact that he forms a deadly strike partnership with Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, he has more changes than fellow summer recruit Neymar.

We cannot wait to see the match we tagged "Ronaldo, Bale and others VS Messi, Neymar and others".
