Madrid Star Hits Back at Mourinho for Mirror Jibe

However, the 31-year-old Portuguese icon has defended their actions - stating that the 'mirror act' has not affected them at all.

"It's just like Mou to be the only human being that gets up in the morning and doesn't look at himself in the mirror," he told Marca.

"We won't be drawn in by it. It's part of day-to-day life and it hasn't affected us at all. It's quite normal for us to look after our image in order to create a good impression for the club we play for, namely Real Madrid.

"When we are in front of the cameras, in the media, etc, I think this is perfectly acceptable."

Carlo Ancelotti replaced Mou as the head coach of the Spanish club, and his presence has remained a boost to the performance of the team.

Madrid comfortably sit on top of the La-Liga table - with four points ahead of long term rivals Barcelona.
