Nasri: Wenger is a magician

Ex - Arsenal playmaker Samir Nasri has defended his former manager Arsene Wenger by stating that it is quite unfair for anyone to criticize the French boss for the lack of trophy, according to ESPN.

The Gunners' coach was recently described by Jose Mourinho as a 'specialist in failure' - for having not won any trophy with the Emirate club for approximately 8 years now.

However, Nasri, who joined Manchester City from Arsenal in 2011, has insisted that Wenger is a 'magician' who worked wonders in the North London club on a limited budget.

He said: “Arsene Wenger didn’t have the funds to build the team he wanted. I know him really well and he is not happy when he is not winning so I think it is a little bit hard on him because for me he is a magician for everything he has done for Arsenal.”

Moreover, the France international expressed his confidence of the Wenger led Arsenal.

“Look in the league. They are there and they will be there until the end. They were unlucky like us to draw a team like Bayern Munich. In the FA Cup they are still there so they spent some money and they have a good team,” he added.

Wenger’s team face Everton in the last eight of the FA Cup on Saturday and the competition appears their most realistic hope of securing a major honour after they lost the first leg of their Champions League tie to Bayern Munich and only won one of their last four league games to drop four points behind leaders Chelsea.

The FA Cup title seem to be the surest hope of a silverware this season for the Gunners; and they have a chance to grab the trophy as they face Everton in the last eight of the competition on Saturday.
