Spain Coach warns players ahead of World Cup



 
Spain's coach Vicente Del Bosque warns his players that he would not show bias when picking the team that will represent the country in the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.

Del Bosque tacitly stated that he has respect for those players who part-took in the last World Cup success in South Africa; but insists that a new team has to be formed - with the inclusion of rising stars.

As such, the 63-year-old left icons like Fernando Torres, David Villa, Juan Mata and Fernando Llorente out of the squad who will participate in the friendly against Italy. Continue...



"The extraordinary generation of players that helped us become champions have a place in my heart," the former Real Madrid boss told Cadena Ser.

"But I also have to keep in mind that I need to be flexible and give those who can bring something to the team a chance.

"I would be a poor national team coach if I didn't act in that way."

Del Bosque has included Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa and Manchester City's Alvaro Negredo into the squad - ahead of the match against the Azzurri.

"I have a huge amount of affection for those who made us world champions," he continued.

"But at the same time we have to look at those who are coming through."

Spain have been tipped as one of the favourites to win the World Cup in Brazil.
